Names & whispers

A shadow-green ally of hunters and dream-walkers, wormwood is tied to Artemis — the moon-bright guardian of wild borders. Folk tales call her the wolf’s herb: planted by crossings to ward off what prowls unseen, and burned to keep travellers brave beneath the stars.

In Europe, she was stitched into pouches for long roads and spirit-sense, hung in doorways to block nightmares, and carried by witches who wandered the liminal spaces between here and elsewhere.

Magic & uses

Ways to walk with her

Burned lightly by thresholds, tucked into protective sachets, or brewed into an altar wash for clearing stagnant spaces. Keep a sprig near your tools when working between worlds.

Notes & care

Wormwood is potent and proud. Avoid internal use unless guided by a qualified herbalist. Not for pregnancy or those with seizure concerns. Let her magic be smoke, boundary, and spirit — not ingestion.
